Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP)

In the interim, before the Phase 2 RHI (domestic installations) is launched, there is short-term support available in the form of the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) which provides upfront payments to help with equipment and installation costs. If you choose to take up support through these interim measures, support will still be available through the RHI once introduced, provided all other eligibility criteria are also satisfied. The energy saving trust is administering the scheme on behalf of Government.

The Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme is being extended until the end of March 2014, ahead of the launch of the RHI for householders. This scheme, first launched in July 2011, offers money off the cost of renewable heating kit such as biomass boilers, solar thermal panels and heat pumps and is largely targeted at those living off the gas grid.

The table below shows the amount available for each eligible technology type:

Technology Voucher value
Solar thermal hot water £600
Air-to-water heat pump £1300
Ground-source or water-source heat pump £2300
Biomass boiler £2000

This is for information purposes only, please contact the Energy Saving Trust to confirm the rates and eligibility requirements.

Further information on the RHPP can be found at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/rhpp.
