Smart Meters

What is a smart meter?

Smart meters enable you to track your energy use in your home or business with their in-home displays, therefore, cutting out the need to take meter readings. The government aim to have every UK home and business to have a smart meter installed for gas and electricity by December 2020.

Smart meters provide detailed information about your daily energy usage within your home, helping you to make informed decisions about necessary energy saving measures to manage your energy costs. By installing a smart meter at your property you will inevitably save money due to being able to control your energy use. You will no longer receive estimated bills after the energy has been used, which used to make reconciling cost with energy use difficult.

How does a smart reader work?

Smart meters still work in the same way as traditional meters where the total energy used is measured, however with a few differences:

Smart meters with Optiheat Renewables

Optiheat Renewables can install a smart meter at your home or business in Devon or Cornwall so you can monitor your energy use and spend.
